Rector Vladan Đokić held a lecture at Ghent University titled: „Academic Freedom and the Contingency of Its Boundaries: Fragments on Repression“, dedicated to the importance and boundaries of academic freedoms in modern society. In his lecture, Professor Đokić highlighted the fact that academic freedom represents a key component for the development of knowledge, innovations and socially responsible progress. Professor Đokić stressed the importance of international cooperation, especially between Serbia and Belgium, as a foundation for an open exchange of knowledge and strengthening higher education institutions. In conclusion, the Rector pointed out that the preservation of academic freedoms was a joint effort between the academic community, students and the society as a whole.
